At the start of every communications project, I always ask my clients what their lede is… What’s the news, highlight, or driving force behind their communications mission? I’ve decided my lede for 2014 is “working with joy.”
As I’ve shared before, communications is my life’s passion. I love to practice it, read about it, teach it and noodle it with other pros. I find inherent joy, fulfillment and gratification in my profession. In 2014, I’m committed to making that joy even more visible in my work and interactions with clients, business partners, vendors and other work peers… so get ready!
- I want my clients to hang up the phone with a smile, knowing their communications objectives are being met.
- I want my business partners to leave meetings feeling assured, accomplished and confident that the work we’re doing is driving business results.
- I want vendors to feel energized and excited to partner with CommsLede and be a part of our creative projects.
- And I want the people I work with every day to take these positive experiences with them into their own work and business functions, adding their own link to the joy chain.
Because great work will always be great work. But when your great work is also done joyfully, passionately, respectfully and collaboratively with others, work can also feel a bit like play. And I don’t know anyone in corporate America who couldn’t do with a little more joy and play these days.
So here’s to a successful, joyful and playful 2014 from CommsLede.
